I have some questions about DVT and pulmonary embolisms?

Ok, several things here. My son had a pulmonary embolism except that he was not as lucky as your aunt. He was gone before they got him to the hospital. My husband takes Coumadin and has no restrictions except for certain things he cannot eat such as bananas, orange juice, dark leafy greens. My husband follows up every month, but weekly at first, with the anti coagulation clinic to measure his Coumadin level. He sees his cardiologist every 6 months now, 3 months at first. My suggestion would be to start with your aunts primary doctor. They should direct you from there. Good luck to you all. Your aunt is very lucky.
